Technical Project Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Agile Technical Project Manager with a startup mentality to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering technical projects within scope, on time, and within budget in both Agile and waterfall environments. The Technical Project Manager will coordinate remote resources, manage stakeholders, and oversee the development and implementation of technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Scheduling:
    • Collaborate in pre-sales and discovery meetings.
    • Develop project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
    • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
    • Define project tasks and resource requirements.
    • Develop and manage project budgets.
  • Resource Management:
    • Work effectively with geographically distributed teams.
    • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure project success.
    • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members.
    • Track resource utilization and make adjustments as needed.
    • Regular follow-up with developers regarding the status of tickets and tasks. Focus on items being moved along the product development pipeline while keeping developer accountability.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
    • Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
    • Proactively address any obstacles that may impact project timelines or deliverables.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
    • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment with project goals.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements and priorities.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards.
    • Ensure QA automation and manual QA best practices are being followed to maximize efficiency and accuracy.
    • Conduct regular quality reviews and audits.
    • Implement corrective actions to address quality issues.
  • Change Management:
    • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and budget.
    • Assess the impact of change requests and make recommendations.
    • Communicate changes to stakeholders and obtain approvals as needed.
  • Communication and Reporting:
    • Facilitate regular project meetings and status updates.
    • Prepare and distribute progress reports, status dashboards, and other project communications.
    • Escalate issues and concerns to senior management as appropriate.
    • Manage releases and release documentation which detail enhancements and fixes in each product update.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts and software development processes.
  • Excellent project management skills, including proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • PMP and Scrum certifications are preferred.
  • Experience working in one or more of the following, Sports, Workplace ergonomics, AI & ML

Location

  • Remote Hybrid/local to the Greater Toronto Area.
