Frequently Asked Questions

The 3motionAI technology supports most standard video formats, including MP4, MOV, M4V, AVI, and WMV file types.

While we do not require specific frame rates, higher is generally better. For rapid sports movements like pitching, hitting, or golf swing, we need a minimum frame rate of 120 frames per second (fps) to limit motion blur and ensure a good-quality analysis. We have tested up to 960 fps. For all other movement types, 30 fps is usually sufficient.

Our 3D motion analysis achieves over 90% accuracy compared to lab-grade motion capture systems (the gold standard for human motion tracking), assuming the video meets the necessary quality standards for analysis.

Yes, we currently support web portal video upload. However, externally recorded videos cannot be uploaded through the mobile app or for non-workplace movements.

There is no strict minimum video length, but we recommend capturing 1-2 seconds of video before and after the movement of interest. For workplace analysis, we suggest capturing 1-3 cycles or up to 2 minutes for optimal analysis.

Yes. In addition to our proprietary risk analysis assessments, we package existing ergonomics tools into our technology. Assessments like REBA and the NIOSH lifting equation are currently available, and other assessment types are on our roadmap. If there is a particular ergonomics assessment type you would like to see included, please reach out to our team to see what we can do.

Yes. As a full-body 3D assessment technology, we can automate many of the posture-based inputs for tools like REBA or NIOSH-Lifting within our system. We ask for some basic information like task frequency, duration, and external load to ensure an accurate analysis.

Video processing time is proportional to the duration, resolution, and frame rate of the video. In general, video analysis should take under 3-5 minutes. Note that videos uploaded through our web portal (instead of our mobile app) have a few extra steps and may take a little longer.

Our 3DNeuroNet library currently contains 30 movements and is constantly growing. For a complete list of movements, contact Sales or Customer Support.

Yes, videos can be downloaded post-evaluation in the form of our Overlay Video. This video asset layers our tracking skeleton, performance scoring, and key summary metrics directly onto the originally captured video.

Unfortunately not. Our assessments require video input of human movement to generate a complete analysis. We do not currently offer the ability to adjust values, joint angles, or other parameters manually. We suggest capturing a video of a physical mockup for workplace settings to see how effective your intervention can be.

We offer various options to maintain privacy and anonymity. When recorded from our mobile app, we can set it so the video never leaves your device and gets discarded immediately after the analysis is complete. For the Overlay Video, faces are blurred by default, and we can blur the entire background to protect work processes. Don’t hesitate to contact Sales or Customer Support to explore all our options.

Yes, the AI automates all human motion tracking and requires some basic information like the task description, lifting frequency, and assumptions of good coupling for lifting analysis.

While the hands are part of our whole-body model, hand-specific activity evaluation is not yet available. A separate hand activity module is currently being developed, including a hand-specific camera view and detailed hand risk analysis.

Videos can be captured with any standard recording device, such as smartphones, tablets, or external cameras. For best results, we recommend 1080p resolution, at least 30 frames per second, and clear contrast between the human and the background.

Yes, we can easily capture your organization’s colors, logo, and branding tagline to extend your brand via the App and the web portal.  Contact your Account Rep or Customer Support for steps on how to set this up.

Yes, we have an API that allows customers to embed the 3motionAI technology and 3DNeuroNet within their products. We offer three different information integrations.

  1. Summary JSON information – after a video is processed, we offer metrics that can be embedded into our client’s solutions, such as dashboards
  2. PDF – Prebuilt PDF summary information with all available information from the movement captured.
  3. 3MotionAI Video Overlay – .mp4 files that have the skeleton and metrics on top of the person performing the movement.
